myLIFEspeaks Bél Ewo program spreading throughout Haiti

This video shows members of a local special needs advocacy association holding their own Bél Ewo (myLIFEspeaks’ Biblically-based parent support group) meeting in which they are reading from and reciting Deuteronomy 31:8. ⁣ The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. - Deuteronomy 31:8

The association founded in the Leogane region of Haiti (Darbonne) is called Association des Handicapés Démunis d Haïti (Association of Disadvantaged Disabled People in Haiti or ADHD). ⁣ Several ADHD members have been attending our weekly Bél Ewo meetings in Neply traveling 30 minutes each way by motorcycle for the past year. Recently, the president mentioned wanting to establish their own chapter closer to home in their commUNITY of Darbonne.

This would be the second chapter of Bél Ewo programming in Haiti! We are in the process of binding 5 years worth of Bél Ewo curriculum to disperse to communities around Haiti. Until then, ADHD members continue to attend Bél Ewo in Neply and bring back what they learn for local meetings in Darbonne. We are so encouraged by this parent support program empowering parents to care for their children and see the worth and dignity of children with special needs. Shoutout to Bethany Joseph and Madamn Yves for making this program what it is!
