4 out of 10 Haitian adults can't read this right now

Did you know that in Haiti only 61% of adults can read? (Source: USAID)

It's true. The average Haitian, age 25 years or older, has less than five years of schooling total in their LIFE!

We at myLIFEspeaks are doing our part to change this statistic both for Haiti's youth, through Christ-centered, quality education at LIFE Academy, and adults through our LIFE 46:4 elderly programming.

Adults in our commUNITY gather weekly at elderly program for Bible devotionals, practice with letters and numbers, educational games, medical well-being checks, and fellowship.

Some of our participants are learning to spell and write their names for the first time in their LIFE!

Today on International #LiteracyDay we call to mind the gift of learning how to read and write. In America, it is often a privilege we can easily take for granted. Today let's reflect on the gift it is and how blessed we are to have quality education systems that implement these LIFE-changing skills.

You can help us empower Haitians at every age and stage of LIFE for as little as $5 a month by joining The Table, myLIFEspeaks growing commUNITY of monthly donors.

#TheTable partners are the backbone of myLIFEspeaks and are committed to bringing family, nutrition, education, public health and all LIFE has to offer to Haiti by giving each month.
