THE VILLAGE IMPACT STORIES
IMaya Ruth
Imaya Ruth came into our care in 2023 after she was abandoned at a sanatorium in Haiti. Born with cerebral palsy, Imaya needed a family prepared to provide the love and specialized care she deserved. Today, she is chosen, deeply loved, and thriving with her forever family in myLIFEspeaks’ seventh Family Home.
Elderly Program
LIFE 46:4 helps ensure that older adults in our village are not forgotten or neglected by providing essential healthcare, nutrition, and social support. Each week, members gather for health screenings, educational activities, Gospel devotionals, prayer, and meaningful community. Through consistent care and connection, our elderly neighbors are reminded that they are deeply valued, supported, and loved.
Sarah
Sarah was found along a highway in Gressier, Haiti, fleeing people who were chasing her with rocks and sticks because they misunderstood her epilepsy and behaviors. After years of trauma, she came to myLIFEspeaks needing safety, patience, and love. Sarah stayed in her room on a mattress on the floor for about the first three weeks of living at myLIFEspeaks. She ate meals, listened to music, played with toys, and slept. It took time for her to learn that she was safe and loved. Today, Sarah lives with a loving forever family, attends LIFE Academy, helps her classmates, and finds joy in music, school, and time with her siblings. Once rejected and feared, she is now known, accepted, and deeply loved by her entire community.
