May 2022: myLIFEspeaks Official Ministry Statement

Updated: May 18, 2022

The past few months have been a whirlwind, to say the least.

Five of our American staff living full-time in Haiti, most of whom have lived there for 8+ years, were forced to uproot and leave everything behind in an instant in order not to put the lives of our Haitian leadership, friends, and family members at risk. After finally getting our American staff out safely in what became a terrifying, life-threatening, and military-like operation, we had to take a hard look at what Haiti has become. A war zone where no LIFE is safe.

In October 2021, 16 Americans (+1 Canadian) were kidnapped, which created an extremely unstable environment for missionaries and anyone connected to them. Kidnapping came to the forefront for gangs in Haiti as a way to finance their operations and our presence began creating dangerous situations and members of our community suffered.

Knowing this, not only were our five American staff's lives at risk but also the lives of our loved ones in our local community simply by being associated with Americans.

We wish we could sit down with each and every one of you who has supported us over these past 10 years or come to visit Neply. In transparency and heartfelt appreciation for your support, this video is our way of doing so.

Thank you for being part of the myLIFEspeaks family. Please pray for us as we transition from on-the-ground to leading from a distance.
