Miracle Story: Staci

Meet Staci. She is 4 years old and a pre-schooler at LIFE Academy.

Today, Staci is a thriving, happy, and healthy little girl.

But she almost didn’t make it to one month old.

We first came across Staci on one of our regular prayer walks in the village.

When we asked how we could pray for the family in that house, the woman asked if we could pray for a baby that was sick inside.

The woman then brought Staci out for the group to pray over her. Upon unraveling the child from a bundle of blankets, myLIFEspeaks staff found Staci laying nearly lifeless at 1 month old, weighing 3.4 lbs.

Staci was born premature and her mother’s milk had not come in yet so she had just been feeding her sugar water.

Staci’s mother, Stephanie, was not from Neply and happened to be visiting her mother-in-law who had just moved here.

This is why she was unaware of the pregnant mother resources available through myLIFEspeaks right up the road.

Director of Education, Andrea Price, was one of the staff members present.

“It was obvious that this baby was just heart beats away from taking her last breath,” Andrea said.

We immediately took her and her mother to myLIFEspeaks where we were able to give her immediate life-saving care as well as teach Staci’s mom how to care for her sick child.

myLIFEspeaks continued to equip and education Staci’s mother to best care for her and today she is a happy and healthy 4-year-old.

It is because of continuous support from people like you that we are able to save and enhance lives, like Staci's, everyday in Haiti. Thank you for helping make this miracle story possible!
