Matthew 6:3 "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."
We want to brag on our commUNITY Development Director, Adam Pierre, for a minute. Adam is in charge of our children's feeding program among other commUNITY programs. Recently, Adam has stepped up to lead and serve in big ways going above and beyond his normal duties and responsibilities. On top of hand delivering over 100 meal bags (beans, rice, cooking oil) every month to the children and their families, he also makes home visits each week to visit the children, check in on them, and pray with them.
Now that we are doing Feeding Program in-home, a benefit that came from covid-times and something we have been wanting to do for awhile, families are eating together and the parents can be the ones to prepare the meals and be the providers. This allows the parents to be the "heroes" instead of the children coming to myLIFEspeaks for meals.
On his own Adam also recently started doing weekly devotional, prayer, and worship time with all the children in our Feeding Program every Thursday at the myLIFEspeaks' commUNITY center. We are so inspired by the way Adam has gone above and beyond to serve and love the children in the Feeding Program, children who come from very poor, at-risk families and need the food security assistance that myLIFEspeaks provides.
Adam is a great example of helping meet not just physical needs but also spiritual needs of those we serve. Way to go Adam! We're so grateful for you!
