The Vision

Vision Statement

myLIFEspeaks exists to speak up for those around the world who can’t, by bringing LIFE-giving aid to orphans with and without special needs while showing all people around the globe their worth.  This will happen by allowing both typical orphans and those with special needs the opportunity to grow up together in the same family environment. When complete, myLIFEspeaks efforts in Haiti will include a campus with orphan housing, community center, medical center, and more. When we started out, we believed that we needed to create our own campus.  We believed that the only way for us to be successful would be for us to purchase land and own the campus you see below.  While that dream has not been completely dismissed, we learn everyday that being a part of the village of Neply is what we are supposed to be about.  We currently rent two facilities and have dreams of more.  While finances limit us as to what we can rent, we are thrilled to know that our VISION stays the same but our method is ALWAYS open to change.

Thanks to our friends at Waterfield Design Group, we are able to present to you this drawing of what we would like our future campus to be like.  As we grow and as people help us SPEAK UP, we are pleased to show off this amazing drawing of our future campus.  Look at the rough sketch below and you’ll see just how far this has come! It’s an INCREDIBLE beginning!  Thanks WDG!

update: November 2012

We have not abandoned a campus like this.  We have however found that land is expensive where we are–especially if the thought is that Americans are involved–and we MUST be a part of the local community.  This drawing does a great job of showing all the parts that we would like to include in our plans

We would love to share our future vision with you.  Take a look at this crude drawing.  It took a LIFE of its own as we discussed one day the many things we would like to see at a “dream campus.”  That drawing grew and grew until each one of us realized it could actually happen.  You will see the dining hall where we envision kids from each of the 5 houses and their house parents eating.  You will notice a school, medical center, and therapy house…each important for the children who will be a part of the campus AND the community.  From the gardens to the guest house, we believe some amazing things will take place on a campus like this.

The one thing we are most proud of is the cemetery (yes we know we spelled it wrong on the drawing, it just shows we’re human).  Why would we be proud of a cemetery?  Take a look at THIS VIDEO and you’ll see how many people view children with disabilities…and we are going to make sure every child in our care will have dignity in both LIFE and death.
