Leslie Watson: Community Involvement Director, Neply, Haiti

Leslie

Leslie’s heart for Haiti was birthed during her first trip there in 2009. After that trip, she took a job as a missions director, coordinating team trips to Haiti, which allowed her to return several times. Leslie’s passion in LIFE is people, especially children. After falling in love with the Haitian people, she knew God was calling her to Haiti full-time, so she moved there in June 2011. Shortly after moving to the village of Neply, she began teaching English 5 days a week. After spending time getting to know the community, Leslie felt God leading her to do more to impact their lives, so she started a feeding program. This program started with 22 children once a week, and quickly grew to more than 100 children 3 days a week. Leslie has a degree in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations and Global Studies, which is a great tool to guide her in the role of Community Involvement Director in Haiti. Leslie’s hope is that her LIFE is speaking to others every day and inspiring them to do the same.
